Any one who has been paying attention to the #FakeNews meme will be aware that the Mainstream Media are the biggest producers of inaccurate journalism themselves. Print journals like the Guardian and the London Times are amongst the main culprits as they produce verifiably bogus 'news items' on a daily basis - in fact, they are factories of disinformation, omission and false representations.

Therefore, in the most ironic move of all, the discreditable BBC's announcement that it will be setting up its own unit to 'debunk' #FakeNews items is beyond the realms of credibility. It is also worth noting that true independent media have themselves been debunking the BBC for nearly two decades - remember the reporting of the collapse of Building 7 by a BBC journalist at 9/11?

BBC Announced 9/11 Building 7 Collapse Before It Happened
Wednesday, February 28, 2007

Video of a BBC News broadcast from the World Trade Centerarea on 9/11 has surfaced revealing that the BBC reportedthe collapse of Building 7 approximately 23 minutes beforeit actually went down.

The reporter is seen in the videoapparently reading a teleprompter reporting the collapsewhile the building is still standing in the backgroundbehind her.

The BBC has claimed that it lost all of the video of itsreportage on 9/11, but a copy of the report has been playedon a British television program and is now posted on theinternet. As can be seen in our full report, dozens of prominentUS officials are now questioning the 9/11 story.

BBC News Editor Richard Porter has stated on his BBC Newsblog that"We didn't get told in advance that buildings were going tofall down. We didn't receive press releases or scripts inadvance of events happening." He has also stated that thereporter involved, Jane Standley, both "has the eventsseared on her mind" and "doesn't remember minute-by-minutewhat she said."

However, what she said and when she did so is now a matterof public recorddespite the fact that, according to Mr. Porter's claim, "weno longer have the original tapes of our 9/11 coverage."
